Having finally gotten fed up with my lame attempts at cable management, I started looking into getting a wireless mouse. The problem was, with wireless gaming mice they generally come in 2 categories: ones in the $80-150 price range from companies like Logitech and Razr, or suspicious looking, unbranded Chinese ones from eBay and Amazon Marketplace that run in the $15-30 range. Fortunately, I discovered the Eco 600 from Gigabyte, which had gotten very positive customer reviews and retails for $25 on Newegg and Amazon.

I took a chance on it and so far, I am very impressed.First of all, I should mention that when I first held this thing, it did not feel like a $25 mouse. I have used cheap, crappy mice before, and this thing does not feel anything like one. It has a decent amount of weight to it, and the materials feel very good (not like the cheap plastic feel of the Rosewill mouse I got for free with my keyboard).

The shape is very comfortable, and they included rubberized grips which was a very nice touch. Mine also shipped in a plastic hard case with a cut foam lining, which seems like it would be ideal for laptop gamers.

This is not a review, and I am not technical enough to do benchmarks or anything like that, but it has thus far performed very well. I plugged the reciever into my keyboard's USB slot and have noticed no latancy or signal loss on it in the few days I've been using it, and it did a better job accurately drawing circles in photoshop than my wired Logitech mouse did. I have been mostly playing Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 with it, and both the design and responsiveness are top notch. The DPI buttons are much more intuitively placed than they were on the last gaming mouse I used, too.I was expecting this thing to be a cheap but decent quality mouse that would tide me over until I could afford something better, but it has exceeded my expectations vastly. If I had been told this thing retailed for $80 I would believe it. I am enjoying this thing so much that it almost doesn't seem fair to call it a budget mouse.

I have not had it for very long so I cannot attest to whether or not it will hold up as long as a more expensive mouse, but regardless it's a great option if you want something that is affordable. QUOTE='Timstuff'QUOTE='JigglyWiggly'not that i want thisbut you should mention the polling rateyour mouse in the window to checkJigglyWigglyI didn't know about that app.

I used it, and the mouse rated 122 Hrtz average when I was moving it slowly, and about 111 when I was moving it quickly. About what i would expect that's 8ms of response time. I think only the rat9 and is 1000hz Nifty little app. I got around 950hz average with my deathadder. I think only the rat9 and is 1000hz Nifty little app. I got around 950hz average with my deathadder. Mine is all over the place from 125 to 150 but generally 125 Try swiping it faster, it doesn't go to the highest amount if you don't for some reason. The setting have to be turned up all the way in the options too.

Mine's maxed out 1000hz and 3500dpi, I just turn the sensitivity down to a desirable amount. Also if you have a cheap mouse and it's at 125hz, you can try setting it to 1000hz manually. Well worth it, worked for me on my WMO and rosewill mice. Turned them from meh to great. I don't use either anymore, I use the abyssus now. But the WMO is a really good mouse too, just needs to be set to 1000hz to shine.

Luckily my abyssus has a switch on it, super convenient. JigglyWigglyAfter fiddling with it for a bit I couldn't get it to go past a 127hz average, so that appears to be the one con to this mouse so far. From what I've read it's uncommon to be able to do an effective polling overclock on a wireless mouse, so it appears that we have discovered the difference between a $25 wireless gaming mouse and a $100 wireless gaming mouse. That appears to be the one drawback of the Eco 600, so if you need something with more horsepower you are probably better off saving up for something more expensive from Logitech or Razer. Like my non-mechanical 'gaming keyboard' though, I bought this to tide me over until I can afford something better, so I still think it's a good option if you are willing to sacrifice polling speed for the convinience and comfort of wireless.

If you need something with more horsepower though, you are probably better off with a corded mouse until you can afford a more expensive wireless one. I can live with the slower polling speed for now though, and other than that I'm loving the Eco 600 so far. Is there any way to know if that will actually make a difference? Merida serial number. The only thing that annoys me with my current mouse is it can't handle acceleration well (fast movements screw it up).
